The U.S. Area Leadership Team, Sisters Mary Lou Sullivan (left) and Kathleen Corrigan (right) welcomed the sisters to their recent annual assembly. The opening ritual used the theme and images from the Enlarged General Council in March. The Leadership Team shared news from the different areas of the congregation.
Strategic Planning
Sisters Alice Arsenault and Nancy Stiles reported on their work with the Strategic Planning Process. All Areas of the Congregation will look at their reality and work with the process as it applies to their Area in the next four years. The process includes looking back, looking around and looking ahead.
Bicentenary of the Holy Union Congregation
Sisters Theresa Horvath and Yvette Ladurantaye, representing the U.S. Area bicentenary committee informed the sisters of the events and activities they are planning for the celebration of the two hundredth anniversary of the Congregation in the United States.
U.S. Governance
Since the present government structure for the Area has been in effect for two years, in table groups the sisters took time to evaluate the present structure. There was a brief update on the finances of the area. The day ended with a presentation from representatives from the Christian Brothers Services who worked with the sisters to update their medical insurance information.
