In the year of the bicentenary of the Holy Union, news reaches us of how memory is being celebrated in the various areas where the congregation is present. These are occasions not only to remember, but to make the Charism of Union relevant today. We read the account of Aurelia and Gladis from Mendoza, Argentina.
“We were brought together by the motto: "We are grateful memory."
On 7 February 2026, at the Unión Vecinal "Caminar", some 70 people gathered. We shared photos, experiences and learnings, and celebrated by sharing the Word: "You are salt for the earth. But if salt loses its taste, what can make it salty again? It is good for nothing, and can only be thrown out to be trampled under people's feet. You are light for the world. A city built on a hill-top cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp to put it under a tub; they put it on the lamp-stand where it shines for everyone in the house. In the same way your light must shine in people's sight, so that, seeing your good works, they may give praise to your Father in heaven." (Mt 5:13-16). And also the memories, the singing, the dancing and the food!
From what was shared, words emerged that accompany us on the journey: love, respect, listening, dialogue, encouragement, gratitude and simplicity — words that sustain our hope despite the hostile world in which we find ourselves living.
The celebration continued with the Eucharist at the Parish of Virgen de los Pobres on Sunday, 8 February”.
